CEREC has revolutionized the way our practice can deliver treatment to patients like you. This high-tech equipment allows us to restore damaged teeth in a single visit. The result is beautiful, natural-colored restoration that is much stronger than before.
CEREC is an acronym for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics. It means we can quickly and economically restore damaged teeth using a durable ceramic material that matches the natural color of other teeth in your mouth.
First and foremost, the restoration can be performed in a single session, usually in about one hour. With CEREC, there's no need for us to make an impression and send it to the lab. We won't inconvenience you by asking you to return for a second visit.
Secondly, the restoration is natural looking because it is made of tooth-colored ceramic material. It is metal-free -- no silver fillings to discolor your smile! The ceramic material is compatible with tissue in your mouth and is high-grade, anti-abrasive and plaque-resistant. It allows us to be extremely precise and save more of the healthy part of your tooth.
Partial and full crowns, Veneers, and all other single-tooth restorations.
A new reason to smile is only one visit away... We offer technology that will save you time and more of your original tooth with convenience and comfort! CEREC is a revolutionary way to restore broken or damaged teeth in a single visit, making your teeth stronger than before. The restoration is natural looking because it is made of tooth-colored ceramic material. It is metal-free -- no silver fillings to discolor your beautiful new smile!
The Diagnodent is one of the coolest pieces of high-tech dental equipment that we have here at Applegate Dentistry. It is a laser so highly advanced that it can detect a cavity through the enamel of your tooth. And it is totally painless! Old fashioned methods of detecting cavities, such as the Explorer Stick test, are only about 50% accurate. But with Diagnodent technology, the success rates are near 100% for accurately diagnosing a cavity.

No Shot - No Pain - No Kidding! Conventional dental drills grind away tooth... Ouch! Because we care so much about your comfort, we have invested in the ultimate in dental technology - the Waterlase Gental Dental Laser. What this means to you is that we use fewer shots and less anesthesia during procedures, ultimately reducing patient anxiety and providing a more relaxing dental experience.

Increased sensitivity - decreased radiation! Advances in digital x-ray technology means we can get better results using only a small fraction of the radiation compared to the x-ray machines of just 30 years ago. We proudly use the Orthoralix 9200 DDE, the latest greatest in digital x-ray technology. One x-ray from this machine exposes you to less radiation than spending the afternoon in the sun. Yet it is more accurate than other machines!

At Applegate Dentistry we use a state-of-the-art device called the VELscope Oral Cancer Screening System. Along with our conventional oral cancer screening exam (which includes looking inside your mouth for any lesions that might be visible to the naked eye and feeling your neck for any suspicous bumps), we use the VELscope to literally see beneath the surface to detect potentially dangerous growths we might have otherwise missed.

First we prepare the damaged tooth by applying a thin layer of reflective powder directly on the tooth's surface. Using a special camera, we then take a picture of the tooth. We work from this photo, which is actually a pin-sharp optical impression of the tooth. Computer Aided Design technology helps us design the restoration from the optical impressions. |
You can actually watch us design your new restoration on a full-color computer monitor right before your eyes! Then CEREC creates an extremely precise restoration. A high-speed diamond bur and a disk work simultaneously to mill the restorationout of a solid block of ceramic material. |
Finally, we bond the newly milled restoration to the tooth using state-of-the-art adhesive dentistry. Over a decade of clinical research and experience supports the CEREC technology. User input and research have helped the manufacturer improve the product during this time. Dentists have performed over 4 million restorations worldwide. |
